How to use this mini-simulation

Quick start

  • Click Place High or Place Low, then click on the map to drop it. Drag the H/L to fine-tune, or focus the H/L handle and use Arrow keys (Shift = larger steps). Press Enter to snap to the center of the high/low.
  • Use the High/Low strength sliders to change the pressure anomaly (±hPa). Closer isobars = stronger winds.
  • Remove High/Low deletes that center. Reset clears everything.

Seeing the wind

  • Wind display changes only how the same wind field is drawn (Arrows, Dots, Auto).
  • Weather Probe: move the pin with the mouse or arrow keys (Shift = larger steps). Panel shows speed (mph), bearing, and pressure (hPa).

Settings

  • Hemisphere: Northern (deflect right), Southern (deflect left), or Off (no Coriolis).
  • Show isobars: Blue lines are higher than 1013 hPa; red lines are lower.
