Free Trial, Automatic Renewal, and Cancellation
This section applies to individual VST Teacher Memberships that include a free trial. Complimentary school or district access is not charged under these terms.
Your first 30 days are free. After the trial, your membership will automatically continue at $5.99 per month or $49.99 per year, depending on the plan selected, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Free Trial
- A valid payment method is required when beginning the trial.
- No membership fee will be charged when the trial begins.
- The 30-day trial begins on the date enrollment is completed.
- Unless the membership is canceled before the trial ends, the payment method provided will be charged according to the billing option selected at checkout.
Cancellation
Members may cancel at any time through the VST Membership Account page. If cancellation is completed before the trial ends, no membership fee will be charged. After a paid membership begins, cancellation stops future renewal charges. Access will continue through the end of the period already paid for.
Refunds
If a member contacts Virtual Science Teachers within seven days of the first paid membership charge, VST will refund that charge and cancel the membership upon request. Other membership payments are generally nonrefundable except in cases of billing error or when required by law.
Use of VST Teacher Membership Resources
One individual Teacher Membership is licensed to one educator. The member may use membership resources with the students they personally teach or directly serve.
An active VST Teacher Membership provides a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use member-only resources for the member’s own classroom instruction. Purchasing a membership or downloading a resource does not transfer ownership of that resource.
You May
- Print copies for the students you personally teach or directly serve.
- Make the number of classroom copies reasonably needed for those students.
- Project or display resources during face-to-face or virtual instruction.
- Provide digital copies directly to your own students.
- Upload resources to a password-protected or access-controlled class LMS that is limited to your own students.
- Use resources in Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Microsoft Teams, or another protected classroom platform.
- Adapt a resource for your own students when VST specifically provides that resource in an editable format.
- Share links to VST’s public online activities and resources with students, families, and other educators.
You May Not
- Share your VST membership account, username, or password with another educator or user.
- Send member-only files to other teachers or allow others to download resources through your account.
- Upload member resources to a shared faculty, department, school, or district file repository for use by other educators.
- Post member-only resources on a public website, public drive, public social media account, or openly accessible LMS page.
- Sell, resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute VST resources.
- Upload VST resources to Teachers Pay Teachers or another educational resource marketplace.
- Rebrand VST resources, claim them as your own work, or intentionally remove copyright or attribution notices.
- Modify resources for redistribution to other educators or include them in another curriculum, product, course, or resource library.
- Systematically copy, scrape, download, or extract VST content to build another collection, database, product, or service.
School and District Use
An individual Teacher Membership does not provide department-wide, school-wide, or district-wide permission to distribute member-only resources among staff. Schools and districts seeking broader access should contact VST about a School or District Membership.
When a Membership Ends
Access to new member-only downloads ends when the membership ends. Unless a specific resource states otherwise, materials lawfully downloaded while the membership was active may continue to be used by that individual educator with their own students, subject to these terms.
Additional Licensing Terms
Additional details are provided in the VST Licensing & Use Policy . That policy is incorporated into these Membership Terms of Service.
VST may suspend or terminate membership access when an account is shared, resources are redistributed without permission, or these terms are otherwise violated.
