About the standards connections

Connections identify concepts a resource supports. Open a card’s standards notes to see which parts are covered and where additional instruction is needed. A single resource may support only part of a standard.

Standards connections appear after alignment review. Resources awaiting review remain searchable by topic and type.

Connections use Virginia’s 2018 science SOL, Texas science TEKS implemented in 2024–25, and NGSS. Most connections cover middle school and supporting elementary concepts. Selected Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science resources include high-school connections. NGSS practice and core-idea connections are labeled separately from performance expectations. A missing connection means no match has been assigned in this review scope.

The standards menu groups Virginia SOL and Texas TEKS subparts under their parent codes. NGSS performance expectations are grouped by topic. Choose a group to browse, then optionally choose a specific subpart or expectation. A group match means support for at least one part, not full coverage of the whole group. Only standards connected to the selected collection are listed. Flexible classroom tools and resources awaiting specific standards connections remain available under All resources. A deck or multi-step activity may contain several prompts.

This growing finder includes the Earth, Life, and Physical Science mini-challenge and interactive collections, Virtual Labs & Simulations, Graph Skill Builders, CER & Scientific Thinking, and PhET Mini-Challenges. Shared activities appear once and remain searchable in each collection that lists them. Graphs and multi-part activities stay grouped. PhET sets have expandable buttons for each published challenge. Member printables use your normal VST sign-in. Free PDF worksheets remain available without membership.
