Identify the Testable Question

5 rounds  •  different science domain each round

A testable question must meet all four of these criteria:
1 Specific — names exactly what is being changed and exactly what is being measured
2 One Variable — changes only one thing at a time so results can be interpreted
3 Measurable — the result can be expressed as numbers or collected data
4 Experimental — answerable by running an experiment; not an opinion, a “Why…” question, or a prediction about the future
Useful starters: “How does ___ affect ___?”  •  “What happens to ___ if we change ___?”  •  “Does ___ affect ___?”
